6mm bullet length

After tearing up my right shoulder late this summer, I decided to hunt Kansas white tail with a 6mm Krag single shot I have. I loaded up some Hornady 100gr SPBT & went to the indoor range to get it on the paper. First 3 shots key holed. It turns out the twist is 1 in 12. If anyone has some 80 to 90 gr bullets, please measure the length & drop me a note. I have some 100gr round nose Hornady that measure .95, think they will stabilize?
Thanks Mike

My Sierra 85 gr HPBT measure .940 long, my 100 gr Hornady 100 gr spire points are 1.055. I think your 100 gr RN should work fine.

My son killed his first deer with a 85 gr BT Speer, a forked horn Mule Deer.

Another interesting point. The .243 case I measured held 53gr of water, the 6mm krag held 56gr. I loaded with 30gr 3031 & 100gr Hornady RN. No pressure signs, I loaded with 30gr 3031 & a 90gr Speer SP & experienced case head separation. Go figure. One problem with shooting cast bullets, stop ring or breech seated for the last 30 yrs, I have forgotten everything I knew about reloading jacketed stuff. I have a Swiss Martini in 9.3x53 rimless. Before next deer season I am going to work up a load, if I can find a mold that will work.

Yamoon, I am getting excellent groups with the 85 grain Speer bullet with several different 1;12 twist barrels including my latest toy, a 6x30/30 AI Stevens 44 1/2.  I have taken a handful of antelope with that bullet and am very happy with it.  Tom
