Digital Scales

Recently my Dillon Determinator scale after 14 years of good service has decided it has had enough of me and has quit working. At the time I purchased it, it was a good deal. Now with my economic situation, $85 to get a replacement from Dillon is just a bit salty so to speak. In doing some research on the new for a replacement I ran into a recommendation of a scale on this site, (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links). Since I don't know any of the people on the site where I ran into the link, I would like to post it here and ask if anyone has had any experience with the site or the products/scales that they sell.  They do offer some enticing prices and a 30 year warranty on most of what I have looked at.
Any help from members here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

since the late 50's i've had a myriad of both analog and then digital scales, including the rcbs chargemaster.  i've totally abandoned analog beam in favor of digital.  my go-to digitals are the gempro 250 ($147) and jennings mack 20 ($52) - both will do +/- .02 grains.  i heartily recommend the jennings mack 20.  i also get my digitals from old will knott scales.

I bought a Aculab from Sinclare a few years ago. It measures to the hundredth of a grain repeteably. It has always performed for me.

Use the same two (2) scales, though my Gempro was $119 on sale from Will Knots. Bought for high power loading, but is quick and easy for BP.

You might give Dillon a call.  I've found their warranty and repair service to be as good as it gets.

My old Determinator scale which I bought used died about 10 years ago. I sent it back to Dillon and they sent me a new one. I don't know if their warranty is still that good but you should call them.

I did call Dillon, my determinator is 14 years old. What they will do is send me a new one if I send my old one back along with a check for $85. I am looking for a less expensive alternative. The link I posted seems to have some decent scales at reasonable prices. One of the reasons for this post was to gain some suggestions as well as post a link that others may be interested in.
I do greatly appreciate the reply's I have gotten so far. Pretty much now it will be a matter of trying to make up my mind as to what one I want and then putting the funds together.

Been using this scale for close to 5 years and even ordered a backup in case it's not available ...

just do yer self a big favor and get the jennings mack 20 for $52 + shipping at old will knott scales.  it'll reliably and consistently scale down to +/- .02 grains, which is far finer than any of us'll need.

The Jennings Mack 20 Table Top Precision Scale has a 20 gram capacity with a 0.002 gram resolution plus grain(308.60 gn x 0.02 gn)
The scale from Deal Extreme is dead nuts accurate to 0.01 grains.  Strain gages govern the quality of digital scales and this is the best scale I have used - after trying many.

that sounds like a good scale, too, with its .01gn resolution.

Yep. I've never met anyone who can hold better than 0.02gn. Wink

The 2 scales mentioned so far in this thread both seem like excellent scales. There is one thing in my requirements that I had not mentioned yet, at times I do like to weigh bullets and the Jennings scale will not work for that as my bullets so far weight up to almost 550 grains. That being said, the next step up Jennings will work and I think that the one John mentioned will also work but I would have to look closer at the description to see the weight max. for that scale.

If cost is important now just forget the digital and buy a good used beam scale. It will last the rest of your life and no batteries are required.
