Terry is new to the sport and was shooting a loaner a rifle in this his first match and as you can tell by the scores he also did quite well! His breach seater unkowingly decided to add some substantial seating depth due to a loose set screw adding a little more confusion to learning the conditions but he got it re-adjusted and calmly conitinued on. It won't be long until we see his name towards the top of list and to top it off he has a new rifle coming soon. I think I better get out and start practicing more!

Good Shooting Terry!

Bruce Kirby has increased his scores the last two years.

What do you think has contributed the most to his improved scores.

Going to that massive sized barrel or the barrel sled or both?

Great to see shooters finding ways to improve their performance.

Dave,
I don't think it's the barrel weight cause all my guns have improved.   I experimented by shooting my Highwall off the barrel recently and had a very good target. I do believe that the sled helps with barrel torque though.
Rick MacHale told me once that it was all about trigger control.   It makes me focus.
Most important is switching to the 32/40 case.   It's more forgiving.  It accepts a greater variety of powders.   I've switched to a lighter Darr flatnose bullet.
Finally,  I'm serious about my shooting but don't take it seriously. I'm more excited when I make the gun performs like it's supposed to than by"winning".  George Peppard used to say, "I love it  when a plan comes together".  I agree.

Bruce:

Bruce:

You always shot fabulous rimfire scores but it has only been the last couple of years where your centerfire scores caught up.

I never thought it was your shooting technique and always wondered if you were having troubles tuning up your centerfire.

Whatever it was it looks like you or the rifle is tuned now.

Keep on having fun. Smiley
