Is it safe to load 2 .28 caliber rocky mountain shell to modern 7mm mauser specs in a modern rifle (Ruger #1). I want to know if there will be a problem with head separation? Thanks for your answer Hank45

Hank it would be best to call them and ask the question. Opinions all though good might not be the best way to go on this one.

JLouis:

I see that RMC makes 28-30 cases, but  I am still puzzled as to what the original question means.

Chris he is concerned that they won't take the pressure. RMC cases are designed for Black Powder pressures not high pressure smokeless loads. They are completely different in make up than drawn and annealed factory brass. They are CNCed from solid brass and the brass they use is also not the same. Visit their web site when time allows for more detailed information. The original question was in regards to full power 7X57 / 7MM Mauser loads.

I Hope This Helps

If it were me and I was trying to shoot a 7x57 I would just use any of the readily available factory brass.

RMC shells I have, 32/40, have less interior capacity than factory 32/40.

My guess is loading data for high pressure cartridges would be different turned-drawn.  The have very little spring back too may extract hard.

Quite a while ago I tried making Lovell 2R brass from some RMC .25-20 cases.  About half of them split on fireforming.  Annealing a few did not help.   Just confirming what Boats and JLouis posted.  They are not as tough as properly drawn and annealed brass cases.
