Starting from scratch with this caliber. What brass? Jamison from Captech or form from other? Thanks.

Assuming you meant 25-20 SS and not 25-20 WCF, the Jamison is the way to go.

It is much better brass than my original G&H 22/3000.

If all else fails, Midsouth Shooters Supply is still showing some 32-20.

If indeed it's the 25-20 WCF you're trying to find brass for, Remington (R-P) is what I use, as well as most of my fellow shooters. Winchester brass doesn't seem to hold up as well. I have no experience with the other brands, only know what works for me.

Suppliers I've checked, including Mid-South, list it as out of stock, no b.o's.

Okey, with the no supply of empty cases, your best approach is to buy a box of loaded 25-20's.  Then when they are available, buy just the brass because nobody has just unprimed brass now

You could make them from your 32-20 brass. CPA should have them.

Kinda what I thought. Is it a multi-step process .........  and is annealing required?

No, but it is advisable to insure the case seals against the chamber sides firmly and work hardening of the case brass is minimized

Annealing: heat the case to the depth of the seated bullet between 625-650 degrees.  Will be a bluish green color - red color is the brass will be too soft.  Drop the case on a COTTON towel and air dry.  Quenching them in cold water does not anneal brass - only steel!

Actually, quenching in cold water may help slightly in annealing non-ferrous metals, although for cartridge brass at the temperatures we are working with it is not a significant help.  However, quenching steel in cold water NEVER anneals it, it results in hardening, not annealing.
