Real nice turnout Frank and I hope you pickup somemore. Was Tony by chance shooting his 33-47 and if so he is becoming real consistant with it and becoming the man to beat. He kicked butt with it at our ISSA Regional this year and walked away in first place in AS Bench with a 494&14 and a 2nd in Irons.

John,
The rifle Tony has been shooting at your Modesto match, Spokane and this match, isn't the 33, it's the Badger barreled, Miller in 32 short, built by a dear friend of ours, Don Moore. Don has passed on but, his rifle lives on.

My rifle carboned up but, Elaine's 32/20 rifle is starting to shoot. She did very well with the long pull, narrow forearm and 3.5 lb trigger pull. I'm making her a new, wide forearm right now and am hoping that I can come up with a short pull butt stock, soon.

Didn't even know Tony had a 32Miller Short?
Which rifle carboned up Frank using which powder and what primer?

My 33 Elco Max, using #9 and 7 1/2's. Smilley lube. I had been seeing how long I could go w/o cleaning. The last time I cleaned it was after Spokane. I guess it only works with 22's.  Embarrassed

Tony contacted me regarding his rifle. It is NOT a Badger barrel, it is a RKS Smiley

Frank:

We are pretty sure where you can get some Alberta Schuetzen Lube.
Maybe a head-to-head trial would be a good test for your 33 on a hot and dry day or periods of shooting without cleaning.
I clean after each shoot however frequently go 100 rounds without cleaning without problems with the Alberta Schuetzen Lube.

Additional info on Tony's rifle. The gain twist is 24 ending at 12.5

Dave,
while I did only clean once at Spokane for all the combined matches, I had left it this time for 1 mo, between our local matches. Maybe I'll have to try it someday Smiley
