Curiouswhat others load. I use 27 grainsof trailboss. I have some heavy lead slugs I bought that are .461 dia for practice loads.
Since I want  to get a hog here in CA condor country. I developed a load with a 350 grain barnes hollow pt patched with teflon pipe tape. Works real well on paper.

What dia do others use?

What is a good source for cast bullets?

I too have a 577-450.  Would like to know what SAFE/accurate loads (non-black) to use.  What bullet weights.  Might have to have a mould made.

I am a firm believer in the old rule "black powder rifle: black powder loads ONLY"!

Trail Boss is a fast burning pistol powder and was never meant to load in a case the size of the Martini Henry which will hold over 110gns of black. Why risk blowing up a piece of history?

Besides black powder shoot best in my rifles!
