Were the shooters using black powder, smokeless or duplex loads in their Big Bore fixed ammo?

Hi Dave, AFAIK there was only one shooting black powder - that was Al Sledge.  All the rest were shooting smokeless.

Al wouldn't use anything else in his Big Bore rifles, no doubt he was using this competition to check out his loads before a couple of weeks shooting at Raton NM next month.
