Yep........ always anneal my new brass and again at the start of the season. Been doing so for a while. Even bought the Bench Source machine, which is a great piece of gear. See my annealing service ad in the classifieds. Wink

I  like fg for 45-70. I've also tried a 50/50 mix of fg/ffg. With some of the old Winchester brass, it gave a little more volume. As I remember there was no noticeable difference in accuracy. Of course, these were all TD's.
