Guess the maker.

32-40 and matching 38-55 barrel.

It Looks Winchester to me. But, I'm sure it couldn't be that simple!

Meacham action, Badger barrels. F Zika Soule, Axtell globe via KAF. Thanks Keith.

Meacham made the action only.

Guess the maker of the rifle. Bear in mind, Meacham made the action only.

Hi Frank.

Better let john post his rifle.  May not want me to.  Undecided  It's his rifle, wished it was mine.  Sad

Wheres the next match, Frank?  I'm ready to do it again.   Wink

Don't know who made the rifle, but that is one of the most attractive Schuetzen type stocks I have seen. How about a picture of the other side?

Joe,
Is it a take down of some kind or does the 38-55 go on and off as normal?  Like Chuckster says, "let's see the other side? Smiley  Nice looking rifle!

Rifle is 32-40 now. No take down system.

My next match (other than the local ones) will probably be Modesto in Oct.

Oh yes, I forgot that John is on the forum.

John,
Please post pictures of that beautiful (and accurate) rifle you bought at the match. I know that everyone on the forum would love to see it. I'm so glad you got it and I will get to see it in person again.

Now back to the "Mystery rifle" Smiley

Frank are you thinking about the one Bruce bought from Jim Bordman. I also tend to think he built the rifle Westerner is currently speaking about and Ron Smith might have had his hand in tuning the action?

John, I can answer that. The rifle Bruce bought was Chuck Bordmans hiwall. It was a varmink rifle with a huge cheek plate when Chuck acquired it in the seventy's.  Bill Crane installed a Barry Darr barrel on it. Chuck used the rifle for many years. Then about 1990 Bill Crane set the barrel back to freshen the throat. Rifle has a Niedner firing pin and single set trigger. It was re-hardened in colors about five years ago by Wyoming Armory.  Chuck was the man to beat when he used that rifle, and he used it a lot. Beware the man who shoots but one rifle.
