Does anyone have any information on the Little Sharps sold by Lyman in 22LR and other small calibers?  They are manufactured by Chiappa and also sold under the Charles Daily name I think.

Never available from Lyman in a RF...Only 22 Hornet and 38-55

I have one in 38-55. Extremely accurate little rifle but you must use .380 bullets. Tumbles everything else. Extremely shallow rifling.

Great trigger...Easy to carry through the woods if that floats your boat. A 250g "Accurate Mold" bullet of 20-1 over 9g of Unique with a 3/4" piece of single ply toilet paper to hold the powder against the primer is a joy to shoot and super accurate out to 200 yds.

It's about 80% the size of a full size Sharps

The fit and finish is much nicer compared to the Chiappa branded versions I've seen. But the Chiappa versions are available in many more chamberings.

I have the Pedersoli "mini" 1874 Sharps in 22LR (imported by Cabela's). Could that be the one you're referring to?

Maybe that Sharps they make is the exception - let's hope - but I for one haven't seen anything Chiappa-made that hasn't had some type of problem or just plain wears out really fast. Observed in their 22LR product lines - to include their conversion kits, dedicated black rifle uppers, look-alike mil-surp pistols chambered in 22LRs, etc.

Your mileage may vary ...

All of my single shots shoot one tiny ragged hole with cast bullets ... it's just the following shots that tend to open up my groups Wink ...

I don't know that much about them.  Chiappa is the only one I have had in my hands.  I have been searching on the net to see which one is the best.  I am an engraver and want one to engrave.  I think it would be a neat project and not as expensive as a real sharps.

I have a friend who has one in .357 magnum. It is a really neat little rifle.

I have one of the REAL Little Sharps made by Ron Otto and Aaron "Duke" Pursley in Big Sandy, MT.  It is a work of art.   Ron and Aaron were the ones who came up with this idea in the first place.   I've known both of them for years, well before they first came out with this rifle and they are true artists.

I've looked at the others made by other manufacturers and they are a poor substitute for the real thing.

Mine is in 25 20 WCF and shoots very well.  The fit and finish is extraordinary.

Ron is a Diesel Mechanic but also an extraordinary machinist and Aaron is a rancher but also an excellent engraver.

The serial number on my rifle is 22.

I obviously have a special loyalty to these friends of mine and my blood pressure rises every time I think about how they have been treated by these other manufacturers who have not honored the terms of the agreements between them and Ron and Aaron again and again.

Bobduck, I bet they don't have a website.  Could you give some idea of price and a contact.

They used to have a website but I don't think they do any more.  When  I picked up my rifle about a year ago they told me they had about 45 rifles on order.

The phone number is 1 406 378 3855.  You will probably get an answering machine.

If you do contact them please tell them Gary Riecke gave you the contact information.

Thanks.

Had a friend who had a Chiappa little sharps, and the wood was laminated! It had gorgeous grain, but it was some sort of thin laminate covering the outside of some cheap wood. I was really amazed they could "wrap" wood with a thin veneer that fit so well. No seams showed anywhere, and if he hadn't pulled the stocks off and seen the other wood under the buttplate he'd never have known. I wonder if they're all done like that, or if this was some early or later experiment with wood?
