Would take a complete set of Shooting & Fishing mag to have them all, but his main books were Modern American Rifles & Modern American Pistols.

Arthur Corbin Gould was the editor of the magazine that became the "AMERICAN RIFLEMAN", and published a lot of stuff there and in other magazines.   A book, "The Modern American Rifle"*, was published around the turn of the century (LAST century) and has been subsequently re-printed.  LOTS of good information on shooting BP ctg guns, mainly sporting; not much about target shooting.

* I am not sure about the exact title, can't lay my hand on my copy right now, but it is close.

There's a two volume book called "The Rifle" by Greatbatch that you may be thinking of. It's a very nice quality reprint of, I believe, the first four years of Gould's magazine from back in the mid 1880's.
