Sorry not sure were these all bench, offhand, or a mix?

There was no notation in the match report I received but I assumed that they were bench rest.

The match is all offhand, indoors, on the 50' #7 target.

Everything is offhand no benches.  Some fine shooters up that way. Take a look at Gail Shuttleworths score, she can build rifles and shoot them too.

The ASSRA 50 foot gallery target is larger in MOA than the outdoor targets. No conditions to deal with scores do not correlate to outdoor at longer distances. Some story about why it's larger I can't recall. Think it used to be shot at 25 yards or something like it. I find my gallery scores about 10 % higher than outdoors more or less.

Delaware has also long run center fire squib load matches same time. They define Squib as sub sonic. If it cracks it's not squib. Lot of Trapdoors have shot the match in Military rifle class.

Great matches, nice people, well run, good shooters and some nice Schuetzens to see, many originals.
Wish I was closer and the snow had not been so bad this year, like to attend at least one per season.

Frank,

Yes, even the 40 and 45 calibers rifles are shot indoors at 50'. All of the centerfire matches are shot with squib loads. Like 3 grs of Bullseye in a 32-40 or 4 grs in a 45/70. It's amazing how accurate these loads and rifles are, in the right hands.

"Touch Group of Shooters" at Delaware.  A guy with the offhand shakes could really embarrass them self!
I've seen some of Paul Shuttleworth's targets from Delaware - a fine marksman

Bill Ream --- One Question , is there a reason for these fine folks only gathering to shoot their matches over the  winter season?  My guess would be there is no air conditioning and/or air circulation and the indoor temps make for unpleasant or intolerable condition during the summer.

Otherwise, year round indoor shooting would be a great opportunity.

CM,

We've talked about extending the season past March, it does get hot inside in the dead of Summer, but, the Spring and Fall temps would be really nice indoors. What we had found out in the past, if we had a real nice day in March, some would be out in the garden on the Saturday instead of shooting. But, seeing that almost all of our shooters are retired, they could do the garden work during the week, and then shot on Friday or Saturday. Since you brought up, I'll kick it around with some of the regulars maybe start a month or so earlier this Fall/Winter. If anybody out there thinks it good idea, let me know.

Bill my problem driving up to Southampton is weather one more end of the season makes it easier.  Having said that first good days springtime our outdoor matches attendance drops off too.

Like the match will try again next year.
