I have both the LW 32" Malcolm scope and the MVA B-5. Unhappy with the LW standard rear mount (w/elevation screw), I bought what LW calls their precision mount; I returned it, not even a decent door stop. Keeping the LW rear mount I tried using a RHO front mount (excellent). But the LW rear mount was useless, unrepeatible settings, non-std 60TPI threads.
The LW mounts don't even make good scrap metal. I like the LW scope but the mounts... I'm looking for a quality rear mount now.
If you don't want to change settings and will lock the LW down, then go for it. You can buy the scope separate.
I pulled the LW and ordered the MVA B-5 with the micrometer type adjustment and with three bases. My gunsmith installed the bases on my 22LR M1885 LowWall and a .22Hornet M1885 HW. I kept the third for future use. Alignment was exactly the same on both bases, probably because the gunsmith did excellent work. Once set, the elevation of the .22LR at 50 yds was exactly 3MOA up from the 22Hornet at 50yds. I swapped the scope around, played around various ranges (50, 75, 100 yds) with both calibers; the MVA returned exactly back to the previous settings.
The rest of my range day was ruined because I kept smiling about the MVA and that threw my aim off.
