Any way to tell when old serial number 12900 was made?

Can't pin it down to a specific year, but this model first appeared in catalog #53, probably 1912, & would have gone out of production sometime in 1916 (along with all other models built on the 44-1/2 action), when Stevens management turned over the factory to Westinghouse for war-profiteering.

It shows up in my 1911 and 1914 catalogs. according to Jay Kimmel's book on Savage & Stevens arms it was made from 1913 and discontinued in 1916 which is pretty close. No way I know to narrow it down any further.
