bullet hardness for cartridge loading?

I am going to load some 25/20 ss cartridges to shoot this spring.  I have breech seated
bullets in this rifle but I wanted to make some cartridges to see how close I can make
it shoot.  My breech seated bullets are cast 20/1 my question is using PB base bullets
should they be harder?  I have alloys from linotype, wheelweights and lead and tin to try.
Will still load to about 1500 fps or so, do not want to use gas checks.  Will be using
smokeless powder.  So what have you found to work best for you?  Just trying to not
reinventing the wheel.   Thanks

I would stay at 20/1, neck size only about 1/4" of the neck, depending on the bullet length. ID of neck, not smaller that one half thousands (.0005) smaller than the bullet base. Load out so to just be able to seat the cartridge in the chamber with thumb pressure.

Load about .5 to 1.0 gr less than your best BS powder charge.

Thanks you kind of confirmed what my first instinct said to try.  It has been a long cold winter in Ohio with
plenty of time to think of things to try when the weather changes.
