Ballards may be weaker,
but they sure are neater!

Haven't tried one, but my experience with peep sights that are too far from my eye tells me I wouldn't try one. I've tried similar setups, and the farther a peep is from my eye, the worse it gets.

In our company pistol league this sort of ghost ring sight helps alot of shooters and it is further from the eye.

I was not able to see the factory sight on my 1893 Marlin rifle. I tried on of those Marbles sights (from Buffalo Arms) based on it being good for children and new shooters. No one at the Club where I shoot had ever heard of them.

The sight taps in where the old tapped out and transformed the rifle from a pleasant to shoot old rifle that I never hit anything with to the rifle that won the Club black powder rifle shoot that year.

Now they are seen on about 1 rifle in 4 at the Club, and I will have to try some new tricks to win!

The sight was cheap, installed easy, can be switched back if need be - I give it 2 thumbs up.
