How do you index your bullets?
Just broke in a new Hoch mould and have been trying to index using cut off mark , but not always clear.
Not sure that I want to put a dent in a new mould. What is the excepted way used by most casters?

Thanks Dales

Light punch mark on the nose and no more than what is needed to see it. I like mine up about 1/8 to 3/16 up from the first band depending on how sharp the nose is.

I put the marks 1/8" or less up from the point, depending on the ogive shape. It is a point of imbalance and the closer you can get it to the center, the less effect it will have on center of gravity.

That said, I only mark bullets that are .001 or more, out of round. If it nice and round, don't mark it.
