Ballard 6 1/2 Rigby in .22rf (Read 5617 times)

	Gotta give a Thanks to Steve and Keith at SPG/Wyoming Armory for fixing and getting my Ballard back in full operation again. The stock had two broken pieces out of the bottom right by the butt plate. The breaks were clean and they repaired the stock and matched the finish really nicely. Also they repaired the muzzles crown as that was damaged from improper cleaning and put on the Ballard front sight for me as well. The gun was converted to .22rf by the Stevens company in real early 1900's. The barrel is marked Stevens-Pope. It has a left hand twist, 8 grooves and is a gain twist. Steve shot it several different times out of a Pope machine rest. Thru a bunch of different ammo thru it that he had laying around. Shot Federal Ultra Match the best. The groups were in the mid .2xx's at 65 yards with that ammo. Enjoy the pics. 	That's beautiful, and a definite keeper! I have a soft spot for full sized Ballards converted to .22RF! Just love shooting them!

	Thanks everyone! Glad you all enjoy it! I will add all the S/N's match on the rifle as well. The buttstock, butt plate, breech block etc....the only thing that was changed was the barrel and the original forearms was replaced with a Stevn's type forearm when Steven's replaced the barrel. Wish the original fore arm with the horn tip was still with it! Later, Frank

I've seen a few Stevens rebarreled singleshot guns that were equipped with Stevens forearms.
