A request for input/ideas

Help, I have ended up with:
!.  3/4 of an 1885 needing forend, wood work, three small parts and sights and a spring screw hole on the thick 40-50 Sharps bottleneck barrel.

2.  Two and a half small Martinis. One Cadet, one thick wall with the takedown screw, both in .22 hornet. The half being a complete cadet trigger guard/bolt group.

3. Not much ready money. (Job change)

I don't want a .22 Hornet. It's a great caliber, I just don't want one.
For a Martini I was thinking .357 Max in a .358 bore with a one in 14 twist rate for those rifle spritzers. Is the .001 difference in bore worth the bother?
Thinking 20"-22" barrel

Or a 7mm Waters, after all Bob Snapp uses one.

I'm Stuck with the .40-50 Sharps bottle neck for the 1885 unless someone wants to trade barrels.

Ideas folks? Trade all but one to get the other one done? Sell them all and look for something complete? Trade everything for something all done?
Burn black candles and look for a cat named Pyewacket?

Help please.

Finish the High Wall. 40-50 Sharps should be a great, not too stiff a cartridge. Having a hole d&t'd is ~$35 from a gunsmith and the wood can be purchased pretty inexpensively from CPA, here or on eBay. Converting a BSA will likely be considerably more.

My opinion, for what little it is worth is I wouldn't even mess with a martini if I had a high wall available.  The .40-50 should be a decent cartridge to work with, the equal or better of a .357 max.

That said, what you should do really depends a whole bunch more on what you want to end up with.   If the high wall in .40-50 isn't what you want, I'd pass it on and build or buy what you want.

What I personally would do is sell the martini pieces, and use the funds from them to rebarrel the high wall to exactly what I wanted, and finish it up.

I would infinitely rather own one rifle that is RIGHT, and exactly what I want than several unfinished projects that are not what I want.

Given no other constraints, what caliber rifle and what action and configuration would you most like to have?

The answer to that question might dictate what you should do.

If your answer to that question is a Clerke .338-06 rimmed high wall, or a 16 pound .50-110 rolling block, or a custom half octagon .44-40 rolling block  talk to me about a trade!
