I shoot a SAECO #190 8mm bullet in a marginal twist 32 Special. It shot really well with the gas check in place. Without the gas check the bullets would tip quite a bit leaving oval holes in the target. A few years ago I posted a question as to why and only one person ventured an answer and that was that I had in affect, made the bullet into a boat tail bullet! 2 years ago, I sent the mould to Erik Ohlen at Hollow Point Mould Service where he bore out the gas check and then faced the mould off to leave a .120 base band. Best group so far .401 with nice round holes at 100yd.
