I just placed an order with Zip Metals ( (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)) for 400 lbs of 99.9% pure lead at $1.47/lb + shipping. I could have ordered as little as 30 lbs @ $1.99/lb. In addition to the relative low price, what I really liked is one of the shipping options is flat rate boxes. The shipping fee was only $95.75 for the 400 lbs, resulting in a total price/lb of $1.71. BTW, 20:1, 25:1, 30:1 & 40:1 alloys are also available in 30 lb minimum orders.

I considered RotoMetals ( (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)) but their minimum pallet order was 500 lbs @ 1.55/lb and $310 shipping to my residence for a total price/lb of $2.17/lb. and I’d need a way to quickly unload 500lbs off the truck or pay an additional lift gate fee.

hadn't seen Zipmetals before, Roto metals is about 100 miles from me but I use John Walters in Moore Ok...also buy my wads from him. John uses the USPS Flat Rate Boxes Too.

UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE

I just received a call from Zip Metals.  Unfortunately I was confused and the 3"x4"x20" ingots I ordered are too large to fit in a flat rate box and must be shipped by truck, incurring an additional $85 shipping fee.  So, what I thought was a really good deal is now not so good, but at a total price of $1.93/lb, it's still cheaper than other suppliers I checked.

BTW, for a higher total price smaller ingots are available, which can be shipped via flat rate.  The per pound lead price goes up but the shipping is cheaper.
