I am planning a trip to Germany next September, would like to know if it is possible to see the original Schueztenlisl artwork or visit a Schuetzenfest. Can anyone help me out?

Biggi might be able to help with event schedules.

Contact Bill Loos and or Tom Rowe. For the 3 vol set of euro-schutzen books they visited a MAJOR museum collection that had a large part of the historical material.  You may need to make advanced arrangements to view that collection

Joe,

Where in Germany are you going and for how long? I have some contacts in the Stuttgart and Munich areas.

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.

So far our itinerary is open but we plan to spend most of our time in the Munich area. Joe S

If you read German, this site will tell you a lot about schuetzen matches in Germany and Austria:
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)
Also, contact Biggi, she is a regular contributor on this site concerning German schuetzen stuff.

There are indeed two Americas. Simply put, it is not the haves and have nots. The two Americans are in reality divided into those who do and those who don't.

Biggi would be a good place to start.
Also plan on buying a shooting wardrobe they won't let you shoot in bibs and a ballcap.

I shot several matches in Baden-Wuerttemberg wearing jeans, button down shirt, Levi Jacket and cowboy boots. I was shooting either a Rolling block or a C. Sharps in 45-70 so they considered me to be properly attired. Usually shot in upper 1/3. I was using 500gr bullets over full BP charges. The others on the line with me using their 8.15s were usually distracted with the smoke and roar....
