Yes it is beautiful.
I posted this back on 12/ 29 ; and (I think) the posting got moved to the "for sale or trade" forum.
It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

Still over a week left in the  bidding?  No idea what the final price will be but it is guaranteed to be more than I can swing.  Anyone willing to bet it passes 4G's?

Pretty, but it is still a 44. A man I used to shoot with by the name of Ray Day cracked the receiver on a 44 with similar engraving. He was shooting a mild load of smokeless. Bo Clerk bought the gun, welded the frame and made it a 22 forever.

C.M.M.,
Thanks for the coffee offer; not sure what will be going on or where I'll be 'till sale time.
I have a tough time at auctions with nice guns: I tend to develop either a repetitive nodding or winking syndrome that usually has me going home with a lighter wallet !

Yea, it's nice.  But it could be a disaster in the making with 32-40 loads other than really low power, even then...

Unless somebody was there and wants to file a report, we may have to wait a little while until the auction company posts the realized prices on their web site.
I THINK they do that; but not sure how long it takes until they do.
They also had some tasty S&W break top 44's I'd be interested in knowing about.

Don't know if that price includes any buyer's "premium" or not Huh

Boy is that a surprise to me! If it was on the 44.5 frame I'd still be surprised, but on a 44 frame? I need to look in my safes and see what to sell!

What does "price realized" mean?  Does it include the 20 % buyer's premium?  And does the seller also pay a commission?  Or is "price realized" the net amount going to the person who gets paid after all the commissions & premiums & taxes have been paid?
