I'm perfectly capable of building one, but may buy his just to save my time for other pursuits.

Also considered purchasing his set-up, but the PID controller & SSR are identical to the ones I bought on eBay for $35. Well under an hour stripping a couple of wire ends and twisting a screwdriver to put together. Of course, is not as neat and clean as his set-up, but the same functionality.
