I ordered one of these green dot lasers and note: They take the 9V CR2 battery. compared to the three 1.5V LR44 batteries in the red dot
Compared to the red dot lasers, the green dot shines stronger, at longer distances and wins hands down for sighting in for long distances!  Am tired of wasting ammo at the range - so laser sight on the target and then adjust for precision with both scopes & vernier  Wink

One thing i have found using mine is:
When it is "mounted" in the bore i rotate it a couple of times and asset where, in the circle the dot will "print", up is.

If anything, wouldn't you want it pointing down if eccentric to the bore? That would help due to the arc of the trajectory, no? Agreed that greenies are slick!

All of my single shots shoot one tiny ragged hole with cast bullets ... it's just the following shots that tend to open up my groups Wink ...

I gave the green dot a dry run this morning after church ... nice green dot reflecting at 600yds.  Did it holding in my hand and reflecting off a reflective road construction barrel 3 blocks away.
Mounted and holding steady on a bench rest, believe should do 1000yds with a cloudy sky and an old reflective license plate on the target.

So, with a trajectory table and this bore sighter - should be a large decrease in sighters for adjustments

How are you accounting for the arc of the trajectory ... ?

From the trajectory table MOA  ... sight adjusted to center target using the laser.  Then from the trajectory table, adjust MOA for trajectory drop
For distances out to 300yds - just print one and adjust MOA needed.  For 500m out to 1000yds- adjust from trajectory table including wind drift.  Mirage?  Determine movement & estimated speed - adjust MOA & print one
IMO, the laser will reduce sighters especially on the 400 - 500m steel and 700-1000yd paper targets

This afternoon, bright sun, shined it at 600yd reflective barrel again - dot was visibly vivid.  With the red dot ones - they die at 100yds and shorter with bright sun

I have a red one and have had it for almost 2 years. The issue that I have with it, is windgauge, at 25 - 50 yards it will print somewhere on paper but, at 100, it's iffy. My old Bushnell bore sighter has better alignment.

Anyone else have this problem or is mine just bad?

How much are those 9v batterys? The 3 batterys in my red laser were $8.5, almost 1/3 what I paid for the laser. Yes, I forgot and left it on Sad

Frank, the beam on this green dot is strong compared to my red dot - meaning I can see strong trail of the light for a long ways and hardly none for the red dot.  Yesterday, I tried  it out in a haze and could see the beam lighting up (reflection off) the moisture particles in the air.  Kind of neat

CR2 (5 pack) for green dot - $5.80 with free shipping

LR44 for red dot (50 pack) - $4.20 free shipping

Which one? Several on the page. The first one, the Bushnell, uses LR44 batteries. Next one doesn't say what batteries it uses. The Bushnell is apparently red. So again, which one?

This is nuts. Normally get an answer to a question here right away. There are several people apparently offering the same bore sight on the Amazon link. There are also apparently other bore sights on the link. I ordered one that I thought you guys were talking about then cancelled because I was not sure. Been trying for 2 days for someone to verify which bore sight and which vendor everyone was talking about. An answer please!!!!

Send a pm to John Boy.  He probably isn't checking the old post.
