Rocky Mountain Cartridge brass is lath turned - not drawn
I ordered 100 cases of 25-21 and started prepping them for reloading
Steps:
* The mouth of the case has to be trimmed to remove the thin area left when they are cut off from the lathe - Easy
*The mouths of the cases need to be chamfered to fully remove the remaining cut off brass & the mouth sharp edge
* Then I took a bore light and looked inside a case.Noticed that 0.40" deep, the ID of the case was reamed for the OD of the bullet caliber. In this case - 0.257. But I noted there were ridges left on the inside of the case from the cutter. Hummm, this wouldn't be good when the bullets were seated. So I took the ID tips on the steel calipers and scraped the ID of 100 cases down 0.040. The majority of cases sounded like a zipper turning the case back and forth scraping on the ridges
.... And here's the

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) Bottom Line - RMC makes quality brass, in my case 25-21's:
Cartridge length - 2.06 (standard 2.05)
Mouth ID - 0.2575 - 0.2585
All other measurements - dead nuts on and the cases drop into my Douglas barrel perfectly
Will be using RB-25-20-8, 85gr bullets that have 0.258 bases. Will be no need to expand & bell the brass because they seat to the middle of the bullet base.
And the perfect 50 round case for these reloads is the Case-Gard 50H. The rounds can be seated base down
