I have been using Winchester large rifle primers for all of my 45-70 and 38-55 reloading. In the last few years, I have noticed that the color of the primers has changed, some are silver on the outside and others are brass colored, and have either red or green color on the inside. I cant remember which are the old and which are the new, but I would like to know if the changes in color reflect any changes in performance or components which would warrant not mixing them.

I just bought some that I've never seen before. They're called Large Pistol for Standard or Magnum Pistol Loads. Going to try them in my 38-55.
