It takes  a microscope to find a flaw in a Shiloh Sharps.  Their quality is always amazing.

Dave;
         Thinking out loud .  .  .  .

The displayed Shiloh rifle would make a wonderful raffle prize if it were to be re-donated to the A.S.S.R.A. (think tax deduction benefit) with the intended purpose that it be designated as a A.S.S.R.A. raffle prize; for the second time.

C.M.M.

Sorry. It is my first Sharps and it has found a permanent location at my residence regardless of the first claims by both of my sons.

ASSRA will have to wait until I win rifle four after I take care of my kid's needs first.

Maybe when I win rifle five since I have also been asked to donate it to the Canada-USA BPCRS Invitational.

Nice rifle Dave. I like everything about it.

You have plenty of time to get the paper work done, bring it to Tommy's this spring?

If so, can bring my Shiloh and challenge you to a side match.

OK Joe:

I assume it will be traditional iron sights or do you want to do traditional scope as well?

What are we shooting for? Bragging rights only? I have two pieces of your black walnut that have air dried about five years. Have anything else to trade?
How about checkering the stock on my .38-50 Remington Hepburn on a No. 1 Rolling Block that will be made from your walnut?

I have 30% tin alloy to put up for the trade. How many pounds would equal checkering my stock for me?

Dave

OK the shoot off will be iron sights with black powder in fixed cases. No duplex loads or breech seating.
The traditional way.

Eager to see your Sharps as well Joe.

On the weekend I used the 1874 Shiloh Sharps for the first time in a competition (other than when she edged out your Sharps at Nine Mill Falls Westerner).

I won my event with a 45 score.

The rifle was extremely good at maintining it's elevation.
I (the shooter) had problems with the Rams with winds of 13 to 14 mph with gusts up to 28 mph.

First time I shot her offhand. Took a while to figure out balance and follow through but still got 5 chickens.

To find sight settings I shot 60 rounds without cleaning. Not a speck of lead and only light fouling. I only blowed the barrel.

Rifle works great. Just have to fine tune the shooter now.

THX Again Shiloh for the rifle.

I will be bringing her to the 2014 Canadian Shiloh Invitational BPCR Silhouette match in July.

Dave and I had the Canadian VS American Shiloh showdown at Spokane. Congratulations go to Dave. Was a 30 shot iron sight match using black powder in the prone position using cross sticks.  Dave beat me by 7/8 inch over the thirty shots.

Way to go Dave!  Wink

Thanks for bringing the rifle Dave, it was a sight to behold!
The craftsmanship is superb. And you're right about the pictures not doing it justice! It's about as nice as it gets.
