I made another trip to CPA yesterday to pick up this beauty for my son to use. I'm looking forward to shooting it this Oct in the Hudson Match at the CSV.

Going to CPA can be hazardous to your financial health but its well worth the trip. I feel like a kid in the candy shop when I'm there.

Gorgeous. The thinness of my wallet prevents such financial transgressions in my case.

Fortunately for the health of my bank account, CPA is far away and well out of casual visiting range.  Looking at pictures is fun, though. Cool

I feel your pain Kermit1945. I sold one of my custom built flintlock long-rifles to buy this. No regrets.

Hi Clarence,

I agree, Gail and Paul are great people to do business with. I love talking rifles, shooting etc with them.

It's a 22lr with a 28" Douglas XX #2 barrel 1-16 twist.

Bob - Beautiful for sure! Have you given any consideration to ammo selection/testing, etc.? We're both working with new CPA's in 22LR & in 32-CPA and I've found your sharing of test results with the 32-20 most helpful. Many thanks.

Hey OkeyMaple,

I have some Federal match, SK match and CCI standard velocity on hand to test. Rimfire ammo is hard to come by these days so I'll be trying what I have for now. I'll let you know how they work for me.

I'm glad my 32-20 test results were helpful. I've gotten so much useful information from others on this site.

Nice, very nice!  Checkering and a gloss finish would really set that rifle off.

Thanks Joe!

You ain't kidding. I would love to have some nice checkering done sometime in the future. I seen an awesome example of a fine checkering job on another costumers rifle and was wishing it was on mine.

Nice Rifle !!! I don't know how old your son is but he's very lucky to have a rifle like that. When I was a kid, all I had was an old Marlin bolt action. But it worked fine. Dale.

Hi Dale,

My son is lucky that I'm letting him use it.  Wink

I've been shooting with my sons since they were old enough to hold a rifle as my father did with me. I recently took them to a Schuetzen match and they both loved it. My oldest has his own highwall to shoot. I got this in lieu of just getting a barrel in 22lr for my Mod 52 so my younger son could participate. I consider myself blessed that we have something we enjoy and could do it together.

My son did well at the CSV Match last Saturday. He managed a 241 1C with the first ammo we tried. SK standard.
