I've never used a chrony, but my Competition Electronics ProChrono has worked flawlessly for the last two years!

I 2nd Terry's recommendation of the ProChrono.  I've had mine several years and it's always worked and is easy to setup.  It also does the math.

I still have an old F1- red with cardboard shoot through attachments. Muzzle blast from a 458 Win Mag knocked it over onto very hard ground about 20 years ago and it still works fine.

I would add positives for the Competition Electronics  they are easy to work with, if you need repairs--they are prompt and reasonable
now it can be told--Jim Borton offered to help me sight
in my Ballard   hooked up a fancy Leopold device and I fired one, then another shot  nothing on paper  but a half group on my Competition Electronics chronograph -- actually my best group of the day!!

I like my Shooting Chrony Master  with printer.  It does a lot more than I have a use for so far.  Works great and  no problems.   Good money well spent   imho.

Bought my Oehlerresearch  a long time ago, I have shot the screens  way too many times and it keeps on working no problems.
Chronograph re what you want, and in the words of a friend when I asked him how they worked, he said.

To HELP keep from shooting your chronograph, no matter what brand,  Use a laser bore sighter inserted into your muzzle and project to paper/cardboard etc inside the sky screens.

I shot mine Had been using iron sights then switched rifles not thinking about it. When I sent it back to Crony admitting it was my bullet they answered that no one ever admits they were the one who shot it.

All the 22 bullet did was cut the wire which was a bit over the steel box. Crony fixed it for free all I had to do was pay shipping

I once borrowed a friend's Crony.  It was FULL of holes.  He had the practice of shooting AND drinking beer.  But it still worked!
