Jerry,  what action is your 25-20 wcf based on.    I partially remember some past discussion with Steve Durren about the "small roller" actions and possibilities for a #2 project.  We were discussing the 25-20 singleshot and the 25-21 Stevens.  As best I recall he was somewhat reluctant to consider the 25-20 wcf because of potential problems with hotter factory and jacketed loads-----but my memory may be faulty on that.

What you intend to do with the rifle has a lot to do with what cartridge you choose. Do you intend to shoot fixed of breech seat? Is it for pure target work or plinking? How hot are you planning on running? Are you planning on loading at the bench or loading a hundred or so at home and bringing them to the range?
If you plan on using a lot of brass by ether pre-loading or shooting fixed look no further that Starline 32-20 WCF brass.
If pure accuracy is your goal or you are planning on breech-seating and loading at the bench I believe that there are more truly accurate 25-20 SS chambered rifles than 25-20 WCF rifles. I know that Jerry has been doing exceptional work with his WCF. The 25-20 SS brass from Jamison is excellent but a little pricier.
If I had it to do all over again I would chamber in 25-21 Stevens. The older I get the more I like straight cases. Roberts recommended the 25-21 as being the most inherently accurate case for the .25.

I am pretty sure I will not be breech seating.  I would call it target plinking, and I like wringing out as much accuracy as I can out of my rifles.  I will not be loading this one hot, and will mostly load them at home.  The .25-21 looks interesting and I like straight cases, but I am leery of Bertram brass and would need to buy instead of rent the reamer.  I also think I made a mistake in the liner dimensions and think TJ's only makes the 1:10 in 1/2"; so I may be going with the 1:14 liner instead if that is correct.

First, I am not an experienced 'Bench' shooter but I do have some shooting experience.
Second, I am in the process of reconditioning, via a Gunsmith, a pair of 1894 series Stevens Favorite Actions, one came with a .32 Long RF barrel, the other had no barrel so I located and bought two in .25 Stevens Long RF (also called 25-10 RF) and have ordered a pair of spare breech blocks modified from RF to CF versions.
Third, in looking around for modern barrel blanks to update if needed, I found "Lothar Walther" makes and sells barrel blanks in "6.35 Browning" caliber dimensions and bought one of the 'stock' C-M Alloy Steel 'Pistol Barrel Blanks' in the .25ACP/6.35mm Browning caliber.  It slugs .249" Groove and .242" to .243" Bore and is 23.4 inches long.   They also list liners and other products and will take custom orders.
They might be someone to look into.
By the way my .25 Stevens barrel slugged .248" Bore and .252" Groove diameters.
My .32 Long RF barrel slugged .299" Bore and .305 Groove Diameters.
Both measure 21.75 inches, Breech face to Muzzle.
Best Regards,
Chev. William

Well, with a .25-20 Sinlge Shot, you could do this:

It always bothers me when people say that .25-20WCF brass is more available than .25-20 Stevens.  Except for that short hiatus, Jamison/Captech .25-20 Stevens brass is always available, (at a price), while I have seen numerous posts on other sites over the last few years begging for a source of the WCF, and even discussing the propriety of sizing down .32-20 brass.

Have you tried shooting it as is? It is probably 32 extra long rimfire. I shoot one just like it using my own reloadable 32XL cases. Since you also have a centerfire breech block, you can make the centerfire equivalent: 32 Ballard XL using 25-20 SS basic brass or 327 Federal Magnum brass. Here are my 32XL rimfire cases.
