Custom Stevens boys rifle

I just picked this one up yesterday. It really appeals to me because even though it was made with an 11" pull for a child, it is still in proportion. The very small diameter L C Cummings also helps. The forearm cap and buttplate are ivory.

Joel,

Judging by the shape of the breech block, it looks like you've got a Dandy 1915 Favorite.
I like the wood and the checking.

What dia is the tube of the Cummings? Some 3/4" tubes look oversize compared to a Favorite size barrel, but that Cummings doesn't.
How does it shoot?

The scope is .625 in diameter. Its lucky it came with excellent mounts. It is clear as a bell and I was able to put 3 out of 3 shots in the X ring at 75 years. As always, I quit while I was ahead. Smiley

Somebody spend a lot of money to indulge his kid. It reminds me of a LC Smith shotgun I middeled for a guy once. French Walnut engraved some tasteful gold in 410 and a boy’s size. It was the prettiest shotgun I ever saw. This one is right up there.

Our daughter in law is from Japan, so she is not a fan of guns. I told my son he has 10 years to figure out how to convince her our grandson should have this rifle.

If all else fails have your son threaten his wife with divorce.  Shocked it just might do the trick.

I try that line when they come to visit in August. She is such a lovely woman and great wife and mother that I hate to ask her if it would be OK. The funny thing is that her mother was at the forefront of the movement in Japan for women to break away from their traditional roles, but she was more influenced by her traditional grandfather. I know if I told her if I told her I wanted to leave it to the baby as a remembrance of me, she would immediately agree, but that would be taking advantage. Smiley
