BPCR forum access????

Print Post
Anybody know what's going on with the Black Powder Cartridge Rifle forum?  I registered over a month ago and still not able to sign in.  Says my account in "inactive" and needs Admin. to enable it.

I sent an email reply to the initial email I received when I first registered (bpcr@bpcr.net) and got a successful mail delivery and a message reject; "The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <bpcr@bpcr.net>
550 no mailbox by that name is currently available"

Curious????

Anybody here subscribe to that board?

V/r

Strange,
I have just logged in without a problem at all at 19.26 GMT. I would suggest you try again guys, the site may have been down or had some glitches.  Undecided

Harry.....no offense but I registered on 5/31/2013.  That's a wee bit longer than a couple weeks or a site down problem.

Since anyone not "activated" on that forum cannot contact the Administrators or post questions would you mind inquiring?  Seems like you have access.

I also tried registering with the Shiloh forum with similar results.

Hello Robert L,

I am a member of both sites and have not experienced any difficulty in accessing either. I would suggest an Email to the two sites explaining your problems may get a quick reply.

Boats

The Shiloh Rifles forum can be good. Are about a dozen BS artists over there that will often take over a serious thread and turn it into "all about me" type of thing, but for the most part it is BPCR and good info can be gotten.

The moderator at BPCR does not seen to spend any time there. Registrations were closed for a long period last year.
Note the shoot scores on the home page 2010 is when they stopped.
He possibly has not checked in to confirm your new registration.
You can however look at any of the sight you wish just not post or comment.

That would be annoying.  BPCR's have been my passion for a long time.

Harry....see my first post.  I tried sending and email response to the initial notification that my registration was accepted but got an undeliverable response.

Anyone who cannot log into these forums, also cannot contact the forum owners or Admin types.  One must be able to login first; thus my request that you make a discrete inquiry, since you seem to have access.

At this point it has become not really that important to me. If the way that board is run is any indication of the quality of information that may provided, I'm not missing anything!

I started this thread just to see if someone could help or clarify the situation.

Thanks to all who responded.  Seems like some of us will have to do without, which may not be a bad thing after all.

There is also a relatively new forum called HistoricShooting.com that seems pretty good.

I use the bpcr.net site but registered some years ago.  It is good if you can get on.  There are a few guys like Brent Danielson that don't seem to post anywhere else as far as I can see.  Brent is a good guy to talk to about paper patching.

The "Cast Boolits" forum has subsets for single shot rifles and black powder cartridge that seem fairly active. I had hopes for HistoricShooting.com, but it seems to already be struggling. Could be not many have discovered it yet.

I just re-registered with a new board name and email address, waiting for the Admin's to open it up, lets see if they do.

Last thing I need is a new site to post b/s on, would like to be able to use the Search Function. Back info on BRCR is better than the others from what I can see.

We ought to invite Brent Donaldson back. Knows his stuff and is a nice guy. He just won his class NRA Lever Silhouette Nationals.  Good offhand shooter

Boats if you like I can put up a post on bpcr.net describing the troubles people are having registering.  I imagine that someone on the board has a way to contact the administrator.

Gunlaker gave it a week, since re-reg using my business email address and adding '3" behind Boats.  Still not unlocked by the admin.

Perhaps a message to them asking what's up ?
