Been casting 1 Lb ingots of tin (96% tin 3.5% silver and 0.5% copper) and now it's raining.

The pot is covered and the ingots in the mould will CHILL.

Send some cool weather our way, it's been well over a 100 for six days now and it just peaked at 108 for the day.

Had a break.  Finished 100 lbs.  Done for now.

ONLY 80-90 dF here and many inches of rain.  Garden is going wild!

OK.  How does one ship 70 lbs in a MEDIUM flat rate box (for $12.95)?

(I need to add a couple of pieces of plywood filler - one below and one above to make it solid.)

This is the steel liner - 0.050" thick to keep the contents INSIDE the box.

Pricing?

Tape the ingots up! Got a box looked just like that in tin. If he had not taped them in bundles, they would of dropped out of box. That many holes in box. I also double box since there free.    Pete

I will have to consider this carefully.

AT THE MATCH I charge $6 a pound.

What you see took a half day of my time.  (Royal PITA)

(That's why, I now remember, I haven't sold ANY by mail order.)

IF I do yield to demand, I'll go to $10 a pound plus net shipping (no handling).  I have about another 100 lbs to part with.

IF someone were to offer to carry a bunch to a particular ASSRA match, I would part with it for $6 a pound - to support participation.

Moody Holler - I've set aside 30-35 lbs for you - no rush, even in a year or two is OK.  Let me know if that quantity is OK.

They WILL be taped.  The iron is tough for ANYTHING to get through too.

(We get magnets (of similar density) shipped in all the time this way where I work.)

Wheeled it into the PO at lunch.

Everyone agreed I got my money's worth from the flat rate box.
