Okay the posting photos didn't work so I need to figure that one out

  You have some nice rifles there, glad you decided to post the photos an introduce yourself. There are a great group of people here on the forum and I am sure you will be well received. I shoot BPCR when I can and just had a great time at the Quigley. Let us know where you are located and possibly we can get you to attend some of the matches put on by the ASSRA.

Welcome. Nice rifles. The Shiloh is as good as it gets. Have a Pedersoli myself but he Shiloh is the Cadillac. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here and they are always willing to help.

You got it right.  I'm a newbie to the Schuetzen game but highly enthusiastic and ready to build my first rifle.  From childhood I've had three main hobbies.  American history, natural history and shooting.  I suspect I'm not alone and the late 19th century single shots are a great connection to all three interests.  I'm a biologist so one of the hobbies actually gives me a paycheck.
The only Schuetzen specific book on my shelf is R.S.W's  beginner's guide.  I have many of the other history books such as Cambell's 2 vol set on Winchester SS, Seller's book on Sharps, and Dutcher's book on Ballards Is there an equivalent book on Stevens?  I have a few of Venturino's and Mathews' books on BPC and subscribe to SPG's magazine along with ASSRA journal and SS Exchange.

And I love pouring through all of these books and magazines regularly so if you have some suggestions of what else I should be looking at I am truly eager to know.

When I worked in Washington, D.C., my children were nurtured in the various subjects of history and we were frequent visitors to the numerous history collections that the location had to offer.

The schuetzen sport is over 150 years old in America and in my opinion the historical evolution from,say the American Civil War, up until the late 20th Century is often missed, or intentionally overlooked, by new participants coming to our ranks.  I can readily see that for you, that will not be the case.

Here are some images of a .22LR Low Wall C. Sharps did for me.  26" #1 barrel.  scope and sights from MVA.  It's 4th of July but those fine folks at MVA still called me today to tell me they are about to ship a scope I ordered for another rifle.  I was glad to get the call.

Thanks Creedmoormatch.  The low wall has been a lot of fun and challenging.  Which is one way of saying the rifle shoots better than me.
