Now here's one to get excited about.

It's all original. It's not mine, I downloaded the picture some years ago on the internet. I think it was for sale on one of the big name auction sites. I've seen a few that were close to that condition. Most Maynard carbines were never issued during the war and were in storage for many years before being sold off. That's why there are some in this condition.

I think the case colors are interesting. They were after hardness not beauty. It is mostly grey with a little blue and it is obviously not faded a great deal. I'm a fan of the color hardened finish but I think some of the color hardening done today is a little gaudy.
