Engraved & Interesting Peabody-Martinis (new book)

I stumbled upon this self-published book by Tom Rowe on Blurb.com.  Superb photos (minimal text) of some absolutely stunning Peabody-Martini's, most highly embellished.  Many of these I've not seen pictured before.  The book is only 46 pages, all photos, so not everyone may want to purchase.  BUT, if you go to the preview page and enlarge your screen (keep hitting "CTRL +") you can see the entire book page by page as large as you please.  Gorgeous stuff!!!

There are three or four George Schalck false muzzle outfits pictured in the Percussion rifle book.  Schalck, of course, is credited with being Pope's inspiration.

All I would do is just look at her !!!    Roll Eyes

Either you're a lot older than I am or I don't believe a word of it!  Grin

Certified dirty old man here. I'd stuff that chamber and shoot the hell out of it! All of um!

I dislike tool collectors. Guns are tools. Tools should be used, not just displayed. I'm with Wes Turner.

Joe! Someone recently remarked to me that Martini's are ugly. Can you imagine?

Dang. I think my library is going to grow. Again. Still.

They are ugly, Kermit. Throw a nice enough blanket on one and it's a keeper.  Wink

Let's just say they are an acquired taste.  And, you have to admit, those large flat action sides make a marvelous canvas for a gifted engraver!!
