OK BigO, hope the PM info hellps. A good HONEST source for TD stuff at a FAIR price (and I've tried all the other sources) is Red Dauherty in Indiana. 260-833-2315. Just tell him I told you to call. Known him longer than I care to admit.. As to a Bess TD, now there's one I haven't tried. Probably because I work on a bunch of them for rec War reenactors and get tired of looking at them. But, by golly, if'n that's what you'd like, then go for it.

I don't have another action layin around so until I find one that will either get back burnered or I'll sell this stock and start over.  Unless you have an idea where a guy can pick up an action and lock?

Otto  How many Springfield T.D. receivers and assembled locks would you like to "pick-up" ?

You, or anyone else who reads these pages, will be able to access these parts from Mr. ED KNISLEY (or his son) in York, Pennsylvania.  The telephone number is 1-717-741-2556 and the web site address is;

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

If you are able, the best approach would be to pay him a visit and thereby get the best from his current inventory, which is normally very complete.

See his available assembled locks here;

Thanks Creedmoor, I have visited that site a few times in the past and even went through there yesterday.  It looks like he has what I need when I start moving in that direction.  It's kinda funny what a feller finds when he looks through his favorites.

Otto,  do you mean you went through there, the "there"  being York, Pennsylvania ?

If you were perhaps on I-83 (either North or South bound) you were within two blocks of Ed's house.

Also wanted to mention that Ed Knisley has a sutlers shack at Fort Shenandoah just outside of Winchester, Virginia which is the shooting property of the North-South Skirmish Association.  If you wanted to see Springfield T.D. Parts, Ed will be at the N-SSA Spring National competition during 15 to 19 May '13.

I would suggest giving him a phone call to confirm his attendance.  I've found that by picking up a part to examine it allows you to make him an offer.  In other words, on site with Ed allows you to "horse trade" a bit.

Good luck,

C.M.M.

(Ed, if you should happen upon this message, I need to say now that you are a good guy & smart,   Wink and that "horse trading" is a good thing.  Smiley )
