Martini With A One Piece Stock

I bought this Martini over 25 years ago, and I had never seen one with a one piece stock. It is a .222 Remington Magnum with a rimless extractor. The action is free floated. The barrel has two bedding blocks (attached with two screws each) to which the forend section is glass bedded and held together with two screws. The scope is a vintage 12 power Redfield with a 1/8" dot and cross hair reticle. It has a Douglas premium air gauged barrel and I was told that it was built by a gunsmith in [I believe] Wisconsin in 1968.

Crooked_Creek,

No offence meant, but it just doesn't look right, it was obviously stocked by a skilled man as was a High Wall I saw pictures of a couple of years ago. Neither seem quite natural to me. Having said that, I'm an old crusty curmugeon with staunch opinions. Still whatever makes you happy is all right with me. Undecided

Harry

I like your rifle! Snapp's Gun Shop in Michigan did a lot of custom Martinis and they were famous for their extractor for rimless cartridges. I have a beautiful custom Martini they built with nice engraving and gold inlays in 222. Enjoy your rifle.

This is a not a standard martini but a very close. Made in the 1880's. I think it looks better than the standard military martini.

Nice outfit. The barrel, however, is not "free floated".

Uh, Joe, he said the action was free floated, not the barrel. Grin

Nice job. that's a Fajen stock, he must have obtained it uninletted. Nice job on cutting down the right side of the action to aid in loading too.  Hank

Have you guys never seen a Vickers Martini?  While a bit uncommon, I was able to find one for sale pretty easy with an on-line search.
