My pawn Shop Find!

I found this Winchester setting on the top shelf at a local pawn shop. It started at $1700 with Olympic sights and the 10 X Unertl.  Modified to be single shot (no magazine) single shot bloc installed. Came with palm rest, flat aluminum buttstock and misc other shooting paraphernalia. A good deal at the current price, I live in an area where high dollar guns don't move too quickly. After 6 months of casual discussion with the shop owner, she came home with me for a measly $1000

Has to be .22.  It's an Olympic model and look at how tiny the action is.

From the checkering I'd say it's probably a Reinhart Fajen stock. Good find!  Wink

Excellent buy. The 52D/E/Int'l all had thumbhole stocks available, so it might be factory. If so, adds to the value, though not sure if the 'pretty stuff' is original. However, Winchester would still do custom work if one was willing to pay/wait for it, so might be factory wood/woodwork. But, will guess that is a Freeland butt-hook.

That was an excellent buy, I have a model 52 B with Redfield Olympic sights and I gave that much for it and did not get the extras you have and no scope either.

It has one of those thumbhole stocks that makes it more dangerous.

A truly elegant target rifle!!  If she shoots as good as she looks, should be a one-holer!!  Beautiful checkering!

To be honest, I've never had a love affair with Winchesters in general, but I lusted after a Win. 52 for years until I finally stumbled across one at our local collector gun show!
I've had my Win 52 with Roberts stock, original stock, and Lyman Junior Targetspot for probably 10 years now, and it still gives me as much pleasure as it did the first day I fired it!
You've got a great looking gun, and one that should keep a smile on your face for a long time!
