Hey guys,

If you use a Thumler’s Model B tumbler to clean your brass you may be interested in the thread at the link below, especially if your Thumler has the high speed (3000 rpm motor) and you use stainless pins for the cleaning media.  I started the thread by reporting case lip peening and just posted the results of an experiment.  I’d post all the details here but the very irritating text limit on this site is a real pain to work around.

I have peened 30-06 case mouths by not having enough media and brass in the load to cushion the cases. The burrs were removed during the normal trimming process. That was about 40 years ago and I have managed to avoid it since then.

Have changed over to the small ceramic media from Arizona Sharpshooters and used about 20% of the stainless pins with it to help clean the primer pockets. Problem solved and takes about 2 hours to clean a load of ~200 BP cases.
