Before anyone can play the game Joe B. has to lay down the rules for his 100.00.

Westerner if you don't like sissie money, meet and raise the challenge to 500.00 and lay down your rules. It isn't everyday this group can pickup 700.00 for just shooting 5 shot small groups at 100yds.

Won't do that Louis. Don't shoot sissy matches and don't need the money.
If you're going to do it, do it for some serious cash. 100.00 dollars is paper route money.  Don't think you'll ever collect money from JoeB unless you do it face to face with a stake holder.  Cross your fingers that Dave Patterson doesn't show up. He doesn't hide and will take all the money.

Figured you would weasel out of it, tell you what I'll do, I will disqualify myself knowing it would kill you to have to pay me, that gives the rest of the group the opportunity to take you up on it and it should make it easier for you to put your money where your mouth is.

Go back and re-read the challenge, it is open to anyone, Joe B's challenge is not just with me.

Louis, I don't need the money and never wanted to shoot for the money and never said I did. I would however, like to witness a face to face match in person.
Was thinking maybe you and Frank and JoeB and anyone interested could get together at Etna Green for the sissy match and also the big match. You know, killing two birds with one stone. They could have a podium so you could offer oratory, Ohio style
bloviation.  Everyone would benefit. Maybe even the entire world!

Joe,
Where is it that I ever said that I was a 100 yard shooter (except 22rf)?

I've always promoted money as a prize though. This was a money sport, in the "golden age" you could make a living at it, much like golf is today.

I've always found that when there is a good amount of money offered as a prize, the competition becomes extremely serious and at it's highest level.

Back when a $100 was a hundred dollars ('93 & '94 LOL) I offered $100 to win the 100 shot match held here at 200 yards.

Frank, I apologize, you're NOT a sissy!   Wink

I had thought you said you shot centerfires at one hundred yards.  My mistake.

These threads get long and my memory is shorter.

Dave

Shot under ISSA rules no re-entry that is very good shooting.  Fact remains took one of the best single shoot shooters in the country to shoot 4x5 under 1/2 inch.  The CBA record is 20 % smaller at .4

Lets don't dismiss CBA competition at 100 yards.  Shoulder to shoulder same rules my money would be placed on CBA to win a multi club match. They have run serious programs with a large number of good shooters for a very long time.  Nationals rotate around the country developing shooters in more than one area. Competition breeds success.

Whoever has fine tuned their rifle to shoot 1/2 MOA and and have developed their shooting skills could meet this challenge.
Anyone who is a member of the Tommy Mason's Stars and Stripes 250 Club:

Chuck Bordman
Colleen Molendyk-Pipke
Dave Patterson
Joe Gussenhoven
Ron Bell

Westerner did I miss anyone? Is Dave Purcell on the list?

Or the Alberta Schuetzen Guild 250 Club:

Brad Friedrick (with Dave's rifle)
Colleen Molendyk-Pipke
Dave Patterson
Dick Spencer
Greg Molendyk
Howard Vickerman (with Dave's rifle)
Jason Molendyk
John Schaefer
Ken Richey
Rob Pipke
Ron Smith
Sylvia Bodnar
Tom Bodnar
Tommy Mason

Sorry Westerner, you cannot borrow my rifle since you always beat me with it (as does everyone else). And yes we should include our best Canadian CBA shooter Bev Pinney.

So Joe B. the test should be over the summer months since there are those who cannot get on their range in the winter. So does the money go to everyone who meets the challenge, or only to the first one to file targets within a specified time period, or to the one who shoots the smallest group size (in or outside the bullseye)?

Yes my shooting skills seem to improve when there is more money on the table.

I think I know a few guys that could do it, I notice your rules say something like,  "ASSRA LEGAL RIFLE" and "ASSRA MEMBER", if that's so it may leave a lot of guys out of the shoot.
Does the shooter have to use Cast Bullets.

The rules sound awfully complicated to me. Why not just shoot the target at a match, have the Schuetzenmister score it. If it qualifies have him sign  it and send to Joe for the $100. Much simpler.

Some of those who have questions about cast bullet use need to go back and re-read from the beginning in lieu of jumping into the middle of the topic with their questions. Joe B has outlined his rules in detail now it is just a matter of one signing up for his challenge.

Joe B not that I am not willing to help you with your endeavor as I would be more than happy to do so but it would probably be best to just pick three who have prior group measuring experience right out of the gate and have the targets make the rounds to all three. If that is not possible I will do what I can to help you out.

Not complicated at all, they are pretty straight forward. Send Joe B the money he marks up the target to be shot and sends it out. No different then 40_Rods Offhand postal match or any postal match for that matter. Complicated would have been requiring a moving backer to be sent in with the target. Sad to say not everyone is trust worthy so he is sticking his neck / pocket book out by not requiring it. The offer is there and if anyone is not  interested or doesn't agree to the rules there really is no point to continue posting here.
