Ah, boy's rifles. You gotta love 'em. I'm still waiting for the confluence of the right H&A in .32 RF and a fat enough wallet.

  Hello Joe-139

Thanks for presenting an outstanding pair of Hopkins and Allen rifles.  Do you do your own work ?  The top rifle has a great stock, both in profile and wood figure.

If you have the time, please let us know more about your stock project such as what wood was used and did you start with a sawed plank or pre-shaped semi-inlet.

I hope you tell us more about the H & A rifles in the future !

I wish I could take credit for making the stock on the top rifle but I bought the gun like that. The stock was made a while ago and had some kind of clear finish on it .It was a thick finish and had a lot of cracks in the finish ,It looked bad.I usually sand finish off but it would have been quite a job to get it off with the way the stock was made so I stripped it since it is maple it didn't discolor it since it is so hard.I finished it with hand rubbing 35 coats of Tru oil on it and wet sanding it with 1500 then 2400 grit sand paper.I just started collecting 22 single shots and restoring them.Joe

Beautiful work. Nice rifles. Welcome to the wonderful world of the ASSRA. My choice is Stevens but I appreciate any nice gun. It is amazing how the darn things seem to accumulate over time.

Anything in .22 lr tends to go more dearly than me financial advisor says is available. The .32 rf's sometimes go begging. Then you get into the cf conversion, brass, heeled boolits, dies...

Steve I also can find no parts. I made a lever spring and could use a hammer and trigger.I have since traded the gun with the factory stock. I kept the one with the custom stock just because of the wood. Joe
