First Annual UAT Match 2012 MRC & (Read 254 times)

	We just held our first annual "Us Against Them Team Match". The match consisted of shooting two each ASSRA #5 200 yard score targets, Bench Rest Center Fire Any Sight with a fantastic group of neighboring competitors. CSSC had 7 shooters and we also took our top 7 scores. As you can see by the scores below the end results were extremely close. It is the hope to keep this new tradition up for several years to come and I expect to see the scores rise to higher levels each new shooting year. The hope is to also encourage more individuals to join in the fun this up coming new year. The thought process to create this new event was to encourage competitors from both clubs to get out more often to further develop their abilities, as well as their equipment and to then take what they learn along the way and to share it with others. 	John This is a great idea. Special matches between regonal competitors is a great way to keep interest high. As a note to others nobody had to ask permition for this match somebody took the bull by the horns got some others together made some rules they could live with and had a match. They also had fun. 	Permission? We didn't ask, we just did it. Rules? ASSRA, simple enough. I should add that this was a postal match of sorts. John's group shot at the Modesto Rifle Club and we shot at the Hutchison Range, home of the Central Sierra Schuetzen Club. The matches were two weeks apart but during the same month with about 120 miles between the ranges. Was it fun? It sure was! Did it get some of the guys out more often and trying new things? It certainly did! The threat of a challenge does wonders to get everyone's attention. Just keep it simple and have some fun. Jerry_H
