This web site is privately owned and operated by the American Single Shot Rifle Association to promote fellowship among those interested in the use, study, and preservation of single shot rifles of the type developed between the close of the Civil War and the onset of WWI.

Access to the American Single Shot Rifle Association (ASSRA) Forum IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT. ASSRA Forum administrators and moderators reserve both the right to remove, move, close or allow it to remain, any thread or post for any reason, and the right to suspend or delete any user account for any reason.
Posting privileges will only be available to persons who register and accurately provide all the required information, provide a legitimate electronic mail address and obtain a unique ASSRA Forum member name and password. While ASSRA membership is encouraged, it is not a condition of opening a user account to access the Forum. All user account information must be accurate and belong to the person registering. Invalid, incomplete, or falsified information can result in the immediate termination of all user privileges for that user up to and including a permanent ban from posting on this site.

By registering a user account, you agree to the following terms and condition of use:

1)      Not knowingly post information relative to illegal modifications, illegal ammunition, explosives, or any other activity, which has been found to be illegal or unnecessarily dangerous or harmful. This includes posting reloading data known to be excessive and dangerous.

2)      Not create any post, which is found to be discriminatory or of a threatening nature on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin or sexual orientation. Such posts will be considered inappropriate and therefore removed.

3)      Feel free to disagree as long as the thread does not become offensive and results in 'flames'. In the event that flames occur, that specific post or the entire thread could be deleted depending upon the content therein. While this forum is open to everyone, to keep it fair, peaceful and educational, we must impose restrictions on what you can and cannot post.

4)      Do not use these forums to attempt to settle differences with other users. In the event that you have personal disagreements with other posters please find alternative methods to communicate with them such as email or PM. Personal attacks are considered unacceptable at ASSRA and will result in the posts removal from the forum, the manner in which these are handled will be at the sole discretion of the Administrator or Moderators.

5)      There will be no company bashing type threads/posts allowed. If you have a problem with a company then contact that company directly to resolve your problem. Posting about it in the forums will not resolve your issue and the post/threads will be deleted once found.

6)      Any derogatory or inflammatory comments directed towards the Moderators, Administrator, ASSRA Journal Editor or ASSRA Board of Directors will immediately be removed once found. These people perform these tasks voluntarily, and they do not deserve such abuse. If you have a problem with any of them, please contact them directly via PM or email to resolve your issue.

7)      No foul language. Substituting asterisks or other signs does not disguise foul language. Your post may be deleted if it contains foul language, even disguised. The use of abbreviations of a foul language word or phrase will not be acceptable as the intent is to further circumvent this policy.

8)      Pornography of any type is not allowed. No links to pornography allowed. If your site links to pornography that is not allowed.

9)      Do not post copyrighted material without obtaining proper permission from the author or creator. It is the responsibility of the poster to obtain permission.

10)      Any modifications that may be posted in any of the forums or in the Gunsmithing section are for information and discussion purposes only. The modifications may or may not be recommended to best give you the results that you are looking for. They are modifications that private individuals have experimented with and used on their own firearm. ASSRA or the individual contributor of the modification cannot make any claims as to the overall safety of their modification and do not accept any liability for any damage or injury caused by someone attempting its use on their gun. Firearms are dangerous. Whenever in doubt, consult a gunsmith of your choice before deciding on any modification.

11)      ASSRA is not responsible for the content of any member's posts, and the views expressed on ASSRA Forums are the responsibility of the posting member and not ASSRA. ASSRA does not preview member posts in any way before they appear on the site. Any link posted to a third-party internet address does not imply an endorsement of that site or its content by ASSRA. Under no circumstances will ASSRA, nor any Administrator, Moderator or any member of the Board of Directors be liable in any way for any content, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any post content or PM (Private Message), or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, transmitted or otherwise made available via the site. You are held responsible for what you post and the repercussion of something you said or wrote that may have been out of line or damaging to a person, company's reputation, or any product or service.

12)      As a condition of buying and selling items listed in the For Sale/Trade, Buyer and Seller agree that ASSRA is not brokering or otherwise participating in any purchase or sale. ASSRA has no knowledge of the terms of sale, the condition of any items offered for sale, the accuracy of any aspect of the sale or the use to which any item shall be put. Buyer assumes all responsibility for proper use of any item so purchased. Buyer acknowledges that improper use of some or all of the items offered for sale on ASSRA may cause serious injury or death. Buyer further acknowledges that the use of firearms carries with it a risk of serious injury or death that may not be avoided, even if the items purchased on ASSRA are used properly. Buyer shall seek qualified assistance and instruction in the use of all items purchased. All firearm sales must comply with Federal, State and Local Laws and the Buyer and Seller are solely responsible for following all applicable laws.

13)      ASSRA forum topics are listed. Many are topic specific and ASSRA requests that our users try to keep off topic discussions to a minimum. If there is a forum for it, please post it in that forum. If there is not, then the moderators and administrators may choose to allow the topic to stay, but it can be moved or deleted at their discretion.

14)      It is the policy of ASSRA to respond expeditiously to claims of intellectual property infringement. ASSRA will promptly process and investigate notices of alleged infringement and will take appropriate actions under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ('DMCA'). Should a violation of intellectual property be discovered, the document(s) or messages in such violation will be removed in a timely manner after any and all investigating has been completed to prove the authenticity of such a claim.

Very nicely done and I thank the board for taking the time to expand on the old rules and to outline them more clearly. I also like the reminder under your sign in name as well the notice under your sign in name when you click on the different topics.
