Web site with Stevens Pics?

My long interest in and all the recent talk of the various stevens rifles has me wanting to find a good source of images.

A few web searches have turned up little more than the on-line auctions.

Does anyone know good web sites with pictures of various Stevens models? Also, what books are out there other than the ones from Cornell, which I already have, dedicated to the Stevens single shots?

Halp is always good!

Any idea where I can see comparisons of the 404/414/417/418 etc?

And, while a bolt gun, the 416?

My reference sources. Single Shot Rifles and Actions by Frank de Haas,More Single Shot rifles and Actions by Frank de Haas, Mr. Single Shot's Cartridge Handbook by Frank de Haas, Savage & Stevens Arms & History by Bill West, J. Stevens Arms Catalogues 1875-1899 by Bill West, A History & Digest of The J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company by Harold E. Strong, A Short Illustrated History of the J. Stevens Arms & Tool Company by Joseph T. Vorisek, Savage & Stevens Arms Collector's History by Jay Kimmel, Stevens Pistols and Pocket Rifles by Kenneth Cope, Single Shot Rifles by James Grant, Boys Single Shot Rifles by James Grant, More Single Shot Rifles by James Grant, Still More Single Shot Rifles by James Grant, Single Shot Rifles Finale by James Grant, The Rifle in Americia by Philip B. Sharpe. Now do you wish you hadn't asked? There are probably some more but that is most of what I currently have. Been collecting books almost as long as guns. Most of these are out of print but available on the used market on line somewhere. Some are reasonably priced. Some not. Hope this is of help. Did not realize how many I had until I started this list. Most of these are not dedicated totaly to Stevens but all have good Stevens sections. You have Cornell's Catalog reprints which also are a great reference source. I have mos of those also. They are the best bargain out there in my opinion. Great people to deal with.

Slumlord,
I am NOT sorry I asked! I didn't realize how many of them I already own until reading your list! BUT, there are a few on that list I do not have and this gives me something to keep looking for.

Thank you very much!

I am hoping to get more detail as far as barrel dimensions, action thickness, etc. I know DeHaas and to some degree, Grant list this info. But a model by model treatise would be the ultimate. I am not sure if such an animal exists in one of the books seemingly specific to the Stevens.

The Vorisek book has pictures but very little description. On a side note, when he was writting his Flobert book, he was in contact wife my wife who owns an interesting double set trigger side swing block 9mm flobert that Joe had never heard of or seen before. He had wanted to get info for it for his book, but that was the age before email and digital cameras and it did not happen before he passed..

I like his books for what they are and own several.

Also long out of print the book. " Savage and Stevens Arms and History by Bill West. A hard cover book of around 400 pages featuring the massive Edward F. Mason collection of Stevens rifles and pistols.

If you  are looking for West's book be sure to get the first edition, the second edition leaves out a "lot" of the early Stevens single shots. It's well worth additional cost

West's first edition is one of the better ones. Goes in chronological order so it is sometimes a little hard for me to find a particular model. The Grant books are good and have the other manufacturers if your interests vary.
