It's only the 2nd time she has been photographed.  The Wurfflein Ladies Model Rifle, serial 5270.  All 96% overall bright blue condition, nearly all original honey varnish wood, bright minty bore, no buggered screws and a smooth action that locks up like a bunged drum!  She's now in my safe:

Cute as a bug and Congratulations. Now you need to share how well it shoots once you have a chance to get out with it.

No - a 22LR.  The original rounds in the Wurfflein catalog were 40gr bullets with 5grs of black powder

This rifle will be shooting 45gr remakes of the original UMC match bullet with 4.5gr of FFFFg  or 5gr of sieved 50/60 mesh black powder

Great find!  I have admired Wurfflein's for years, and have only ever seen 3 or 4, none as nice as yours.

Very nice litte rifle, I'm jealous. Did you buy it at a gun show, and auction or a dealer online?

Uechi - Gary Quinlan had it advertised in The Single Shot Exchange. I was hoping that it would have come tapped on the tang for a vernier or a Lyman but no dice.  I'll keep it original ...so guess I'll have to practice more using a buckhorn & blade out to 100yds

John Boy, I'm waiting for my first issue. Nice to know that advertising in a specific magazine can pay off. I agree, I wouldn't mess with the original configuration and it has more to do with history then money.

Howdy John, nice looking rifle..You know, the Wurfflein is probably the closest thing we have to a true British rook & rabbit rifle over here.

I am telephoning Gary tomorrow morning and requesting my own personal Wurfflein match rifle, grade 26, and 32-40.

I actually fondled such a rifle last week-end at the C.S.V. match in Maryland.  It was a 24 or 25 grade with silver/nickel plating in 32-40.
