Supposed to get here Thursday. Problem is that I will be at the NRA Convention that day. Maybe it will show up tomorrow. Going to Cardinals Opening Day Friday. Busy week.

Caught the UPS guy on my way to the NRA Convention. Gun cleaned up well and shoots fine. Lever was better than it looked. Sights correct. Shoots fine. Only problem is that stock had been shortened about an inch. Butplate is numbered to the gun and needed a little work but looks fine now. Need to do a little re fitting of the stock to the butplate to make it right but for the price I am happy. Hope to shoot it on paper next week. Need a rear sling swival and a couple of screws that Numerich has in stock.

Thanks, the more I tinker with it the better the deal seems to be. I am in the process of cleaning up a Lyman 438 that I have had for a while to put on it. Cleaned the lenses, stripped and re painted the mounts, and should get it back together soon. Went on a kick a while back and bought a few scopes when they went for a reasonable price on EBay. Will have 438's on all 3 of my 417's. Sure seem to shoot better with a scope and the 438 was an option on the 417.
