I have a 1862 Peabody Rifle in .43 Spanish that was “sporterized” and the fore stock was cut about 3 inches above the lower band.  I need a replacement fore stocks for the Peabody Rifle or a wood smith who can make a professional repair of the existing fore stock.  The wooden fore stock is very similar to a Trapdoor Springfield or a Remington Rolling Block fore stock.  I can be contacted by cellular at 786-566-8480 oe email at pauldecotiis@bellsouth.net     Thanks

Hi, if you want to keep it all original then start calling around to some of the smiths and see if they have one, a whole bunch of these were converted to sporting rifles and the stocks thrown away before anyone thought much about them. The Rifle shop in Jones OK has the butt stock, not sure if he has the fore stock for one. The number for the rifle shop is 405-396-2583. Really nice folks and great products. They have a very good  profiling machine if you can find a loaner to duplicate.
